‘‘Mdm Chia is a very patient and caring teacher. She always make sure that I’m able to follow during her lesson and make adequate explanations whenever I came across difficult sums. My results have improved significantly under her guidance and her perseverance to ensure I always do well will always be engraved in my mind and I am very grateful for that. From Secondary 4, my Physics grades and understanding of it was quite terrible and I thought of dropping the subject but after her guidance, I began understanding the concepts and eventually got A1 and topped my class for my prelims and A1 for my O levels.’’

“He got 63. Not exceptional but a big improvement from previous exams and a boost to his confidence. Unfortunately we had made the mistake of not starting him on tuition much earlier last year so he’s only caught up with his fundamentals recently. At the end of the day the score is not as important as him regaining his belief that he can do well and succeed with hard work. He worked quite hard this time around and there was a big improvement in all his subjects...

Thank you for your centre’s help and support.”

I’ve personally grown so much and matured so much compared to when I first joined your tuition in Sec 3 with a single digit for physics.

I’ve never written a single teacher’s day card in my life but you’re like the most passionate and dedicated person ever so I had to write one. I am really thankful for all the physics marathon 4 hour long sessions you had with us, and all the late night you spent preparing the materials or answering our 1 am study questions. “I recently joined The Physics Council this year. Before I joined The Physics Council, I hadn’t passed any of my Physics exams in my first year at Raffles Junior College. However, with Ms Hong’s dedicated teaching and detailed lesson plan, I was able to understand the Physics concepts with more ease. Furthermore, I was given consistent practice during her lessons. As a result, I didn’t have to dedicate much time to Physics out of class. "Ms Hong’s kindness, care and love throughout these sessions have made a big difference not only to my Physics results, but also nurtured me as a person to learn how to love a subject and work hard for it"

“I have always had a burning interest for physics from Secondary 1 to 2. However, the 3rd and 4th year doing physics was not as easy as I thought it would be. My grades had plummeted to D7 and this result continued with slight improvement throughout my years in Secondary 3 and 4. My Secondary 4 prelim results for Physics was D7. This was when I decided to engage a physics tutor to improve and push up my grades. I came across Ms Jasline Hong during this tough physics time and she indeed was an inspiration and motivation for me. Ms Hong was patient in guiding, explaining and teaching us the method of applying physics concepts to different questions. Ms Hong never failed to give us individual attention and focus, walking around, asking and helping us when we had difficulties.

Ms Hong’s love and knowledge for physics influenced me greatly. Ms Hong makes the effort to engage us during her lesson, encouraging participation and contribution from her students. Besides these, Ms Hong’s notes are very comprehensive and to the point, such that learning and understanding takes place easily. Also, her questions that she prepared for us, be it for MCQ or open-ended, has really helped me to better apply, as well as equip myself with the necessary physics skills to tackle the physics questions comfortably. Although I had a mere 11 lessons with Ms Hong, I managed to improve drastically from D7 to a B3. Ms Hong’s kindness, care and love throughout these sessions have made a big difference not only to my Physics results, but also nurtured me as a person to learn how to love a subject and work hard for it.”

Ms Hong is one of the most patient and dedicated teachers I have met and I am extremely fortunate to have been taught by her in my JC days. From a student who did poorly for Physics, scoring an E grade for my mid-year paper in JC1, I improved tremendously under her guidance and eventually scored an A grade in the A levels. Ms Hong is an approachable and responsible teacher whom her students can always look for when they are in doubt.
